OUR STORY
How we met
John moved to Boston at the start of COVID—literally, his first day at his new job was the day the office went remote. Meanwhile, Vanessa had an apartment in Boston but temporarily retreated to her parents' house in Scituate. We met in the middle of all this chaos and had to get creative with dating. With no open restaurants and a city in lockdown, our plans consisted of picnics on the Charles and long walks through empty streets. Our first date even got postponed because Beacon Hill, where John was living, was completely surrounded by protests. A true "welcome to Boston" moment.

Fast forward to
Despite the logistical challenges (and Vanessa making the frequent trek from Scituate to Boston just to see John), we made it work. After a while, we decided to take the leap and move in together. Shortly after, we added a third member to our little family—our German Shorthaired Pointer, Hudson. If you know us, you know he quickly became the center of our world.

The proposal
After five years together, John proposed in Edgartown, one of our favorite places in the world. From long summer days to countless special memories, The Vineyard has always held a special place in our hearts. So, it only felt right to gather our favorite people and get married in the place we love most. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all!
